Beat & Motion reveals the theme of Tatsuhiko’s project for the upcoming animation competition

The firework festival is now over and both Tatsuhiko and Nico are busy trying to
accomplish their dreams. Beat & Motion chapter 15 has been released and Tatsuhiko is the focus as he moves one step closer towards his dreams. Reminder, this article will contain major spoilers for Beat & Motion chapter 15 so if you want to read the chapter first, you can do so by clicking here.
What’s Tatsuhiko’s project about?
Beat & Motion Chapter 15 starts off with Tatsuhiko working on his project for the animation competition.
He later on shows Akame and Nabari what he’s been working on. This project was based on Nico’s music video titled ‘I wanna see the ocean’. This chapter reveals the story board of Tatsuhiko’s project. According to Akame, it’s about a young girl who quits singing, has a strange experience in the belly of a whale and later on finds her way back to music.
How Tatsuhiko's project was created
Tatsuhiko created this project but sketching out each scene cut out the sketch, arrange them and later film and edit the video. Nabari instantly points out how Tatsuhiko loves the themes of “setback and growth”. Akame loves the theme because he thinks others will be able to relate to it. It’s also revealed by Tatsuhiko he officially got permission to use Nico’s song because it’s been approved by Nico’s manager. Akame believes his video will be very inspirational to people who are thinking about giving something another chance.
People's perspective at the movies
After the interaction between the three, Tatsuhiko goes to the movie theatre to watch a movie. The movie concluded and Tatsuhiko enjoyed it but on his leave, the remarks he heard about the movie broke him. There were both positive and negative remarks but the negative remarks hit. First, Tatsuhiko encountered some guys who didn’t like the second half of the film because the animator made it personal. These two complained about the animator’s sad portrayal of his life and how he believes his movie will hurt others who have been in that same situation. Others thought the movie was good, others thought it was confusing while another person thought the second half of the movie was better than the first half.
Tatsuhiko's worry
Tatsuhiko thinking about what those guys said made him doubt himself. He recalled a question he asked Nico which was “if there was a time she distanced herself from music”. Nico told Tatsuhiko the troubles she put in her songs in the past seem silly. Though this might be Nico’s response, there’s a high possibility this has something to do with her mom but she’s trying to forget about her troubling past.
At the end of the chapter, Tatsuhiko thought about how he was bullied in the past because his female classmate did not like his artistic perception of her (did not like how he drew her). He thinks Nico might not like what he’s making but he isn’t completely down because Nabari’s advice which was for him to stop worrying about being embarrassed and what other people think.
Closure
Tatsuhiko despite getting Nico’s support still has doubt about what he’s doing because he doesn’t want to hurt her or cause any controversies. Nico will probably support Tatsuhiko either way but Tatsuhiko is fixated on her feelings and what Nico and others might think about his work which makes him uncomfortable
