X introduces the Basic and Premium+ subscription plans and the ability to upgrade and downgrade subscription tiers

X subscription tiers

The X help center just revealed new information about its subscription tier. X right now is offering two new tiers which are basic and Premium+. This new update was announced on October 27 2023 and became instantly operational. This now means X has a total of three subscription tiers which are Basic, Premium and Premium+.


X subscription tiers


X premium is an opt-in subscription that offers additional features which isn’t available to the average X user. These features include the ability to edit posts, the ability to write longer posts(25,000+ characters as opposed to 280 characters), the ability to upload longer videos(3hrs+ and up to 8gb), boosted reply rankings, text formatting ability, the ability to highlight posts, the ability to bookmark folders, Custom app icon changes, custom navigations, the ability to undo posts, a better reading experience, better article selection, the ability to alter the app’s themes, encrypted direct messages, the ability to create a community, reply to verified-only posts, they get ID verification and finally customizations of profile pictures via NFT.

Premium and Premium+ additional advantages


The features above are going to be available for all three subscription tiers (Basic, Premium and Premium+). There are some features available only to Premium and Premium+ tiers which include the Blue Checkmark, Ads Revenue sharing which pays X users based on their post impressions, Creator subscriptions which enables others subscribe to you for monthly content. Users who subscribe to these tiers can also hide their checkmarks, they have access to media studio, and can access X pro (view multiple configurable timelines simultaneously). Premium users have reduced ads in their timelines (50% less) meanwhile Premium+ users have no ads in their timelines along with their followings.


Future Updates and Pricing


X also revealed in the coming weeks, they’ll launch the ability to easily upgrade or downgrade existing subscription tiers. There are no precise reveal dates revealed yet. Pricing heavily varies based on location but on average, the Basic plan is going to be $3, the Premium $8 and Premium+ is going to be $16 per month for each tier. To find out more, click here.
