After 15years Bandai Namco finally revived an amazing game series assumed to be dead. This is the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi Game Series. This is a series of fighting games developed by Spike based on Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball. It was very popular during the PS2 era and was published by Bandai Namco. The game used a “behind-the-back” third person Camera perspective featuring single and multiplayer game modes. Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi also known as Dragon Ball Z: Sparking first aired in 2005 for the PS2 console with the last installment of the series released in 2007 which was Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Fans honestly loved this game series and a lot were sad the series had officially ended but surprisingly, after 15years, a new game that’s part of this game series has finally been announced


Dragon Ball Z: Sparking Announcement


During the recent Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2023 event (which included a a Dragon Ball FighterZ tournament, a card tournament and a concert), Bandai Namco unveiled a new Budokai Tenkaichi game called “Dragon Ball Z: Sparking” making this the fourth game belonging to the precious Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi game series hence the reason why people refer to it as Dragon Ball Z :Budokai Tenkaichi 4 even though no official title or release date has been given. Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi is known as Dragon Ball Z: Sparking over in Japan. The trailer was shared on the official Twitter account of the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour Event and it has been posted on several Youtube Channels.

Details Of The Teaser Trailer


The trailer starts off with its official Rating which was “Rating Pending To Teen”. The Camera pans out in front of a TV with fight scenes and key moments from games in the Dragon Ball Z:Budokai Tenkaichi Series most especially Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3. The first scene was Goku fighting Frieza’s fourth form(fourth transformation). The version of Goku in this scene is Goku mid (The Budokai Tenkaichi series has five different Goku’s which are Kid Goku, Goku Early, Goku Mid,. Goku End and Goku GT, the Goku fighting Frieza had kaioken narrowing the list to either Goku Early or Goku Mid. Now from his stance, we can tell it’s not Goku early as his leg’s extended when firing a Kamehameha at Frieza).

Furthermore, other scenes in the trailer included Trunks Sword in super Saiyan doing his finishing move on Frieza. We also get Perfect Cell Perfect Form doing Solar Kamehameha along with Piccolo Early doing special Beam Canon(In the Game Series, there’s Piccolo Early and Piccolo End. The move in the trailer was a super finishing move. You see,Piccolo Early super finisher is Special Beam Canon In Budokai Tenkaichi 3 meanwhile Piccolo’s End super finisher is Hellzone Grenade in Budokai Tenkaichi 3).


We see Majin Vegeta doing Final Explosion , Ultimate Gohan doing a rush move , Vegito transforming into Super Saiyan and fighting Super Buu, Kid Buu doing his Planet burst attack, Goku GT in super Saiyan 4 doing 10 times Kamehameha. Then we get to see the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi Logo, suddenly we get a scene of Goku transforming and the screen goes dark. Fans get to see the display come back with Camera now in full screen HD showing Goku still in the transformation process. Goku later transforms in super saiyan Blue. It was at this fans lost it, the fan excitement was through the roof with a text saying “Get Ready For Battle”. We now see Goku in Super Saiyan Blue flexing his muscle . Fans get another message which precisely says “A New Budokai Tenkaichi Begins” by Toei Animation and Bandai Namco telling fans footage shown is still being under development


More Information About The Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi Series


There are over three games in the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi game series. These are Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi also known as Dragon Ball Z : Sparking released for Play Station 2 in 2005 which features 64 playable characters with over 8 different locations, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 also known as Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! Neo released in 2006 first releasing on the Wii and later Play Station 2 with 100 characters in 136 total forms and finally Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 or Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! Meteor releasing in 2007 with 98 characters in 161 total forms. Aside from these three games, there are others and even though they are not part of the series, they have a similar play style. They are Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi Tag Team released in 2010 and Dragon Ball Z : Ultimate Tenkaichi released in 2011


Closure


Currently, this new Budokai Tenkaichi game doesn’t have a release date and the footage shown to fans was still in development meaning it might release next year or even two years later as its release date and time is currently unknown. There’s also currently no information about the game aside from past knowledge on Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi game series
