Nico was one step closer to her dream but unfortunately, she got unexpected news which broke her. In chapter 8, Nico met with her manager (Takashima) under her new record label about her debut. Chapter 9 will reveal more about her debut status as a whole. This article will contain major spoilers so if you haven’t read Beat and Motion chapter 9 yet, make sure to do so.
Beat and Motion chapter 9 starts off confirming Nico’s debut has been temporarily postponed. Takashima is upset but she has no choice but to conform. Nico’s debut was postponed because famous artists got transferred from another record label to theirs so they have to allocate their budget and manage these artists wisely; which is why they are holding off the debut of new artists. We also got introduced to Takashima’s colleague called “Nekota”.
Nico and Takashima are both disappointed about what they heard but Nico is just happy she wasn’t completely cut-off. Nico thinks about being a composer (writing music for other artists) in the meantime. Takashima thinks it’s a good idea because the higher-ups might get to notice her therefore speeding up her debut and also reuse songs that aren’t chosen. Considering all this, Takashima decide to assist and work with Nico.
Nico decides to meet with Tatsuhiko. Tatsuhiko got paid so he decides to take her out. On encountering each other, Tatsuhiko is updated about Nico being postponed and she doesn’t know how long it will take for her to debut. Nico also reveals the label still holds to right to Tokyo Uma and 15 of her most popular songs. Being under record label, she also can’t make music videos. Unlike Tatsuhiko who’s trying to be optimistic, Nico really isn’t and thinks the postponement might be indefinite which is why she decided to become a composer; to get money still doing what she loves.
Tatsuhiko believes in Nico and thinks no record company will let someone with her talent go just like that because she’s an incredible musician. They both promised themselves they’ll take over the world but Nico felt disheartened on her way to Tatsuhiko but now she feels that promise is actually reassuring for her not to give up on her dreams.
Just like Tatsuhiko, Nico hasn’t given up on her dreams yet. She’s doing everything possible to do what she loves and finding ways to keep going forward despite some step-backs. They are both fighting to fulfill their promises to each other and I find this very inspirational. This is one of the reasons I love this manga so much; it’s honestly very motivational.
Beat and Motion reveals Tokyo Uma might be Nico’s best song(Beat and Motion Chapter 8)
Unlike Chapter 7, Beat and Motion chapter 8 heavily focuses on Nico rather than Tatsuhiko. In chapter 7, Tatsuhiko made some new friends/ rivals trying to become a step closer in accomplishing his dreams ...................
