Beerus has a Crush on Cheelai(Dragonball Super Chapter 93)

The Dragonball Super manga is currently doing a recap of the popular Dragonball super: Super Hero movie. I’ve watched the movie and if you’ve watched it too you’ll see the similarities. There are some differences though like for instance there’s more detail. I will be talking about Dragonball Super Chapter 93. DragonBall chapter 93 is titled “Kidnap Pan”.
Broly's Story
This chapter begins with a fight between Goku and Broly. Broly’s story is explained. Broly was introduced in the manga before precisely in chapter 42. What’s explained this chapter is no different from the Dragonball super Broly movie. Broly was a Saiyan with great potential, even greater than Goku. King Vegeta learning about his potential exiled him to an unknown Planet known as VampaBroly and his father experienced a lot during their 41 years of staying on that planet it was harsh but luckily for them, Lemo and Cheelai from Freeza’s army found them by chance. They then joined Freeza’s army because of Broly potential and the fact they are Saiyans.
Freeza was on a goal to get Earth’s Dragonball to make himself taller by 1inch so others would still think he’s growing. Goku and Vegeta was an obstacle to his plans so Freeza decided to use Broly and his father against Goku and Vegeta. Broly was strong, in base; he was able to even keep up with Super Saiyan god. Freeza decided to kill Broly’s dad to awaken his hidden potential. I forgot to tell you this but Broly had a control problem. Broly beat Goku and Vegeta. He really couldn’t control himself so he was going all out and didn’t care much despite being a kind soul. Broly was eventually defeated by Super Saiyan blue Gogeta.
Why Vegeta thinks he's weak
During the training session, Goku realizes Broly was starting to lose control so he called him out. Broly said he couldn’t help it. Vegeta was meditating because he believes he’s weak. That’s because he’s lost to foes such as Jiren, Broly, Gas and Freeza. Goku says they just need to train more but Vegeta opposes saying their physical bodies is on par with those opponents, it’s just how the wield their power.
According to Vegeta, they waste too much energy when they fight hence they should relax their bodies and spirits when they fight. Vegeta thinks attacking in a relaxed state keeps the enemy from reading one’s moves and also preserves stamina. Goku obviously doesn’t care. Whis is impressed by Vegeta’s thought process as he also believes muscle isn’t everything. He proposes a match between Goku, Vegeta and Broly. Goku tells Whis Broly still has some control issues and might destroy the planet if he snaps. PS: All this interaction is taking place on Beerus’ home planet. Meaning the fight will be between Goku and Vegeta.
Beerus is crushing on Cheelai
Beerus wakes up and it’s revealed he’s been asleep for 4 months. Whis introduces Broly, Lemo and Cheelai to Beerus with Lemo offering tasty food to Beerus. Beerus found some use with Lemo as he reveales he used to do chores and Kitchen duty when he was under Freeza’s army. Beerus becomes infatuated with Cheelai on sight even though he doesn’t overly express it. They can now stay as long as they like. Whis thinks the fight should begin but Goku would obviously want to eat first.
Piccolo wants to draw out his latent potential
Back on Earth, Piccolo goes to Kami’s lookout because he wants Dende to draw out his Hidden potential similar to what The Great Elder did to Gohan and Krillin in the past. Dende unfortunately doesn’t have such a feat yet but he asks Piccolo to use the Dragonballs to wipeout the Red Ribbon Army for good. Dende knows that won’t sit well with Piccolo because of his pride so he tells Piccolo to ask Shenron/shenlong draw out his potential. He’s worried because of time taken to gather the Dragonballs but Dende believes Bulma already has them. This is because she usually gathers it to make Frivolous wishes. If I were to give an example, she’ll wish for clear skin, bigger/smaller breast, bigger/smaller waist, to cure acne and anti-aging. She might even use it for stronger bones.
Goku Vs Vegeta
Piccolo heads to Bulma after finding out she has the entire set (he called her). Back at Beerus’ home world, Goku and the others have a feast along with the Oracle fish that’s digging in his bowl. After that there’s a fight between Goku and Vegeta. They give each other blows and kicks using the surrounding environment (a tree) as a way of evading each other attacks. Beerus wants dessert while they fight so Cheelai decides to go get it but Beerus decide to accompany her because he has a crush on her. Goku and Vegeta also clash on the water surface creating water Tornado and an impact that causes a flood of water on land but the others are protected by Beerus except Broly. Whis thinks it’s because Beerus wanted to protect Cheelai.
Shenron grants three wishes
On Earth, precisely Capsule Corporation, Shenron is summoned and Piccolo gets his wish of drawing out his latent potential just like Great Elder used to do. Shenron is able to do this because of his upgrade. Shenron has been upgraded before like when Piccolo fused with Kami and Dende was made the new guardian of earth, Dende restored it and it was upgraded. Shenron also threw in a bonus. The second and third wish was given to Bulma. Bulma wanted to give her booty a minor lift and the third was to make her eyelash two millimeters longer. Piccolo isn’t excited about Bulma’s wishes. Bulma is upset because she realizes she could wish Goku and Vegeta back on Earth.
Trunks seeing Piccolo at his place informs Goten to get ready because he feels something big is about to go down. Goten is grounded but Trunks tells him to lie to his mom about having a Study session at Capsule corporation.
Red Ribbons Plan
At Red Ribbons hideout, Carmen tells Magenta Goku and Vegeta are nowhere to be found. He thinks they should attack Gohan because he might grow to become stronger. Carmen says Gohan is posing as a simple Biologist. Magenta doesn’t want them aware of Cell Max before he’s ready. Magenta thinks Gohan should fight in their home turf because Carmen reveals Gohan never leaves his hideout. To bring Gohan here, Magenta thinks they should kidnap his daughter. Hedo isn’t onboard with the plan but Magenta doesn’t care what Hedo thinks. Piccolo hearing this decides to opt to assist in the kidnapping of Pan. He thinks it might be the perfect to the bring Gohan fighting spirit back.
Closure
So the only addition in this chapter was Goten and Trunks’ conversation. I don’t think that was in the movie. I love the retelling of Broly’s story this chapter. It was like the combination of 2 movies in one. Overall, it was good.
