The Nintendo Switch 2 will be launching in two months’ time and there’s so much anticipation. Fortnite is currently one of the most popular battle royale video game and it has been going strong since its official release on 2017. The game is popular across different platforms and devices, from the PlayStation to Apple and Mobile devices. It is just that popular. With the launch is of brand new Nintendo Switch 2 nearing, Fortnite Fans were wondering if the game will make its way to the new console. This article will talk about the release of Fortnite in the upcoming Nintendo Switch Console.


Nintendo Direct


The Nintendo Direct Showcase 2025 was released containing some answers Nintendo fans had about the console including Fortnite. Nintendo Direct is a video game event were Nintendo announces new games, updates and hardware for the Nintendo Switch. The showcase is usually comprised of General Nintendo Direct which covers a wide range of upcoming games, Game-specific Directs which is dedicated to a single game for instance Zelda or Pokemon, Partner Showcase which focuses on Third Party Games and Indie World showcase which highlights on indie games coming to the switch. The main highlight of this Direct was on Nintendo Switch 2 which will be released in the near future. Some important details revealed were the hardware components of the Switch 2 compared to the switch and also upcoming games.


Fortnite on Switch 2


Fortnite is one of the many games which was revealed during the Nintendo Direct showcase. Fortnite was highlighted specifically in the Partner Showcase. The confirmation of Fortnite in the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console was well-received by fans. For Fortnite Fans who plan on getting the new Switch console, release date won’t be a problem because it was confirmed during the Nintendo Direct Showcase that Fortnite will be available on launch day. Fortnite on the Switch 2 will support up to 1080p at 120FPS (Frames per second) in handheld mode and up to 4k resolution when docked, providing a better and more visually enhanced gaming experience.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will launch on June 5, 2025 with pre-orders starting on April 9, 2025.
