Beat & Motion give hints of Nico’s troublesome past(Beat & Motion chapter 12 review/recap)

Beat & Motion chapter 12 has finally been released and though a lot didn’t happen as opposed to previous chapters,
but it had an amazing interaction. I’ll be talking about Beat & Motion chapter 12 so you can check it out first if you don’t like spoilers.
The rendezvous
This entire chapter is basically a discussion between Nico and Tatsuhiko and a very important one at that. This chapter began with a rendezvous between Nico and Tatsuhiko at a beautiful eatery. Hayato decided to make a music video for “I Wanna See the Ocean” which was Nico’s first song he heard. He decided to do this because create a music video for Tokyo Uma.
The reason for this rendezvous was because Tatsuhiko wanted to request Nico’s permission to enter the proposed song in the contest and she agrees. They both decide to also ask the Nico’s record label for permission. This is the right thing to do so Nico wouldn’t face any hurdles
Tatsuhiko's Plan
Tatsuhiko already began the preparations for the music video by drawing what came to his mind listening to the song. He did so in hopes of convincing her. Tatsuhiko also revealed he’ll sketch 200 pages later picking the ones he’ll use for the video storyboarding. Nico looking at the sketches is intrigued but looking at her facial reaction, I think she’s saying “it looks cute”.
Tatsuhiko’s view on "I Wanna See the Ocean"
Tatsuhiko out of excitement tells briefs Nico about what comes to mind when he listens to “I Wanna See the Ocean”. According to Tatsuhiko, he thinks it’s a song of turning ones frustration into a sense of renewal and challenging oneself to achieving a dream they’ve forgone before in the past. Nico has a very confused look in her face to be honest. It’s like she doesn’t even know what Tatsuhiko is talking about.
A glimpse of Nico's Past
Nico had a flashback when Tatsuhiko asked if she’s dispatched herself from Music before in the past and in this flashback, we see a young Nico playing the Piano and she was so happy. Nico replied to his question saying she doesn’t remember a lot about the past and about her troubles she put into her songs. This means she’s had a dark or troublesome past she doesn’t want to talk about. I think she’s trying her best not to think about that because she replied to him with a forced smile on her face.
What'S Next?
They both decide to leave and Tatsuhiko feels bad. He knows there’s something wrong with Nico but he doesn’t know what. He thinks his words hurt her and his curiosity might’ve trampled her feelings. I actually like how empathetic Tatsuhiko is towards Nico’s feelings. This chapter concluded with Nico and Tatsuhiko on their way to a firework festival on Nico’s request.
Closure
So Reading this chapter, I really liked it and I loved the emotions portrayed by the expressions of both Nico and Tatsuhiko in this chapter. These expressions could tell an entire story and I absolutely loved that. I can’t wait to see the interactions between Nico and Tatsuhiko next chapter. I’m going to really love it.
