How Pan learns how to fly in Dragon Ball Super

Cell Max

Dragon Ball super is currently still adapting the super Hero movie but its nearing its completion. Dragon Ball Super chapter 98 is titled Gamma #2’s resolve and its following the epic fight between the Z fighters and Cell Max. I’ve already seen the movie so I’m going to review this chapter bringing out some similarities and differences between both. To read chapter 98, click here.


Gamma #2's sacrifice


A chubby Gotenks is facing off against Cell Max but he cant keep up with Cell. Seeing this, a plan is proposed by Gamma 2. The others were asked to distract Cell Max with long range attacks while Gamma 2 attacks from above releasing all his energy at once.

The others successfully accomplished their tasks but Gamma 2 couldn’t land a hit at Cell’s head. Cell Max blocked the attack but it was so powerful it destroyed his arm. Gamma 2 unfortunately lost his life or his entire energy source in the process. Orange Piccolo in a desperate move to save Gamma 2’s body had to lift Cell Max from his feet.


Why Piccolo doesn't like becoming big


Cell Max

This became easier when Piccolo decided to become giant. Piccolo always had this move before but thought it was pointless using it because it doesn’t make him stronger. Piccolo had a plan for Gohan but for this plan to become successful, Gohan needed a Senzu bean. That’s because Piccolo believes in Gohans potential. This senzu bean was intercepted by Cell Max’s energy blast. Gohan and the others tried catching the Senzu bean to no avail.


Pan can fly


The senzu bean was about to fall but was caught by Pan who figured out how to fly. In the anime Pan could fly as a baby so I have no explanation about how she forgot how to fly but I’ve spoke about thus before. Gohan now full rejuvenated fought Cell Max with the assistance of Piccolo, Android 18, Krillin, Gamma #1 and a chubby Gotenks. They were all losing.


Closure


Piccolo came up with one last plan which was to hold Cell Max down while Gohan fires an energy blast at full power. Next chapter might conclude the manga adaptation of this movie leading to something new.

When talking about the difference between the movie and its manga adaption, in the Super Hero movie, Pan figured out how to fly when Cell Max released several energy waves which almost took her life but in the manga adaptation, Pan figured out how to fly when she caught the falling senzu bean. Apart from this difference, there wasn’t another.
