Cyberpunk Edgerunners is an anime series developed by CD projekt Red. It was released on September 13, 2022 and exclusive to Netflix. Its storyline is centered on a Teenage street kid called David Martinez. The entire show basically gave insight on David’s life in Night city. After the completion of Season 1, fans were uncertain about the possibility of a season 2. This article will emphasize on a new update that reveals if Cyberpunk Edgerunners will have Season 2 or not.

Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2

After two years of waiting, there’s finally confirmation that Cyberpunk Edgerunners will have a Season 2. This information was made known on July 5, 2025 across several social media platform. In fact, an Announcement trailer was revealed confirming Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2. The trailer didn’t reveal a lot of details about Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2 but it simply confirmed it. Based on the information revealed in the Announcement trailer, Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2 is currently in production so the debate on whether the show will have a season 2 or not should end. Announcement Trailer

The Announcement Trailer was very short. It highlighted important details about Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season with emphasis on David and Lucy. Season 1 was loved by fans because of its plot, animation, complex themes and of course its characters with David (our protagonist) and Lucy being two of the most important. What to Expect

So far, CD Proekt Red hasn’t revealed any details about Season 2. In fact, this short trailer alongside a teaser poster is the only information that has been revealed but based on the teaser and how Season 1 concluded, it is still possible to get hints. At the end of the trailer, some characters were revealed and there was emphasis on a small boy with who had a camera. This means there’s a huge possibility cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2 will have a plot centered on brand new characters as opposed to Season 1. Lots of Fan-favorite characters died in Season 1 but there were survivors throughout the ordeal. Focusing on new characters rather than survivors is a good idea.

Closure

Despite the confirmation of Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2, the release date has not been revealed yet. All we know now is that the anime is in the production phase. It might be released about a year time or maybe even two or three years depending on the animators.
