Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero also known as Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 4 was announced a year ago and there have been several updates. The game will be released on October and so far Bandai has released a lot of important details. The complete character list for Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero has been released which will be emphasized below.

Game Modes in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero

Bandai Namco released a trailer known as “Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero – Full Roster Reveal” which confirms all playable characters for Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero. This information was released by Jun Furutani, the producer of Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Another information revealed was the different game modes in Sparking! Zero.

Episode Battle mode

The first game mode is known as “Episode Battle”. This is a single player mode were you can “take the point of view” of eight different characters and enjoy battles from the anime. It follows the story of Gioku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Future Trunks, Frieza, Goku Black and Jiren. The number of battles will vary for each characters. For instance Goku will have the highest number of battles because his story extends from Dragon Ball Z to dragon Ball Super. This is based on what happened in the anime. The battles are expected to have different routes and hidden scenes across various stages despite the battles following original scenario.

Custom Battle Mode

Secondly, there’s the “Custom Battle” mode. In this case, players can create their original teams, play and share their creations. It usually starts with custscenes that depict conversations and situations between characters which consist of battle title, the battle itself and post-battle custcenes. Over 30 customs battles have already been prepared in the “Bonus Battle Section” in Custom Battle mode with various original situations and victory conditions. An example of a bonus battle include “Special Gimmicks”.

Edit Mode

Edit mode allows users to freely set up original battles by customizing playable characters, pre- and post-battle cutscenes as we’ll as events that occur during the battle. For the creation of cutscenes, users can create and connect up to five cuts both before and after the battle. Post-battle cutscenes can be set to vary depending on the outcome (i.e. who wins and who loses). Users can set character positions, pose, screen effects (such as monochrome or sepia) and also expressions. Background music can also be set along with Camera work and subtitles for the speaker (voices not included but over 5000 base texts are available).

Special conditions can also be set for instance set a rule that allows characters go into Sparking mode when HP is below 30% or the opponent switches to a reserve character if 30 seconds of battle time elapses. Bandai has also made it easy so user can upload their fight online easily.
