Beast Gohan makes his long awaited manga debut in Dragon Ball Super

Beast Gohan

The Dragon Ball super manga is currently adapting the Super Hero movie. With the release of Chapter 99, the manga is at the ending phase of the movie. There were some manga additions in the past. I’ll be talking about Dragon Ball chapter 99. I’ve watched the Super Hero Movie so I’ll write this bringing out any difference I notice between both versions of the same story. Piccolo Vs Cell Max


Dragon Ball Super chapter 99 is titled “Son Gohan’s Ultimate Awakening”. This chapter takes place after the event of Chapter 98 which was a furious battle between some of the Z fighters and Cell Max. This chapter begins with Orange Piccolo charging at Cell Max, Piccolo’s goal is just to hold him off so Gohan can charge up his Chi striking Cell’s head with a powerful attack.

There’s a clash between a gigantic Orange Piccolo and Cell Max though Cell Max has the upper hand. Piccolo knowing he can’t beat Cell Max is just taking the punches but he has his limits. The others (Krillin, Android 18, a chubby Gotenks and Gamma 1) seeing Piccolo in his sad state decide to go assist by distracting Cell Max.


Beast Gohan Awakens


Cell Max beat all of them but Piccolo refuses to give up. He keeps on fighting but he’s simply weaker than Cell Max. Cell Max tossed a beatup Piccolo in the air and shot a huge blast at him. Gohan seeing this went crazy, awakening a new form known as “Beast Gohan”. Gohan is now stronger than Cell Max. Cell Max tries to hit Gohan but Gohan doesn’t even flinch, he is just so strong. Gohan sent Cell Max flying with just one hit.

Piccolo’s body fell to the floor and that’s when Gohan realized Gamma 1 used a barrier to save Piccolo from being destroyed. Cell Max awakens creating a massive blast and compressing it aimed at Gohan, Piccolo uses his arms elasticity to contain Cell Max as Gohan prepares an attack. Cell Max seeing this along with Piccolo’s hold on him tries to fly away while still aiming the massive energy ball at Gohan.

Cell Max couldn’t succeed because his wings were cut off by the collective effort of Gamma 1, Krillin and Android 18. That basically how this chapter concluded.


Closure


Reading this chapter, there was a difference between both versions. In the movie, Cell Max’s wings weren’t caught off but in this case, it was. It’s not a major difference though. Chapter 100 is going to conclude this arc meaning the Dragon Ball super manga might begin a brand new arc as of January 2024. Dragon Ball recently announced a brand new anime which is supposed to air in 2024 known as “Dragon Ball Daima”.
