X-Men '97

The first Season of X-Men ’97 recently concluded and there’s a lot of excitement for Season 2. As a fan of the X-Men animated Series, season 1 was amazing and didn’t contradict anything that was set up in the past. If you want to know about what happened in the animated series (before X-Men ’97), click here. I won’t talk about any important details about X-Men ’97 so you don’t get any spoilers before watching the show

Season 2 confirmed

The second Season of X-Men ’97 has already been confirmed. Season 1 set up a lot of important plot points which will be used in Season 2. Based on recent information released by Comicbook, details about the development stage of season 2 has been revealed. In an interview with Brad Weinderbaum, who is Marvel’s head of streaming, it’s revealed the second season of the hit animated series X-Men ’97 is in the animatic stage. This means the team has gone far in terms of its development because storyboarding usually comes before this but it’s possible the story has been written beforehand considering how Season 1 concluded. The setup for Season 2 was on point now Season 2 just needs to deliver.

Season 2's development phase

In the interview, Brad Winderbaum said ‘’It’s still in animatic phase. Animation takes so long to make as I’m sure you know. There was a great bit about this in Invincible Season 2. They just nailed it so hard, it is the greatest. And it takes a long time because the studio wants to see how successful the first season is before they greenlight the second season, there’s a lag. We were lucky enough to get the greenlight before we aired so there’s maybe less of a lag. People are just going to have to be patient with us”.

Closure

As I said before, X-Men ’97 was a good show. Its review was also good and I’m sure it was quite popular. I’m excited for season 2 and we know it’s in development but unfortunately, no release date has been revealed. Season 1 concluded this week so details about Season 2 will be released later on but I hope its at least get talked about this year.
