Ubisoft is a video game development company based in France and one of the largest in the world. Most Video Game fans are aware of Ubisoft because of popular IP’s such as Assassins Creed, Far Cry, Watch Dogs, Tom Clancy Series and much more. Usually, Ubisoft games can be found on Ubisoft connect which is available on PC, consoles, and mobile but there is an exception. Other services include Ubisoft store and Ubisoft+. Ubisoft’s new announcement suggest hardcore gamers will be able to buy new games directly on the Xbox app on Windows PC.

Ubisoft's Announcement

Ubisoft recently made an announcement revealing 16 new games and classics will be available on the Xbox App on Windows PC. This means people can actually go to the Xbox App and purchase these new releases and there are 16 in number. This information was revealed in a post by Ubisoft on X which read:

“Pssst…..

For the first time ever, 16 of our games, from new releases like Assassin’s Creed Shadows to classics like Watch Dogs 2, are available to buy on the Xbox app on Windows PC!”

Ubisoft's New Move

This is the first time Ubisoft is actually doing this which is very important. Ubisoft would usually use its own platform, Ubisoft Connect in order to maximize profit. Ubisoft has also made partnerships with Epic Games Store so some titles such as Assassins Creed Valhalla was exclusive to the platform at launch. This makes his new move from Ubisoft interesting.

Closure

This new move by Ubisoft is most likely aimed at reaching new PC users thereby widening its distribution network. Despite the good news, users are uncertain if they will be able to play Ubisoft games purchased on Xbox App anywhere. Also, it is uncertain if users can earn Xbox achievements.
