Mummily control center AI Jinrui-shoku: Blight of Man

Jinrui-shoku: Blight of Man chapter 17 is finally out and there’s so much to talk about regarding the Mummily’s home-world and what their goals are. Chapter 17 is titled “Blight of Man”. Last chapter, Tsukiko in conflict with a Mummily learned about. This article will contain major spoilers so to avoid that; you can read Jinrui-shoku: Blight of Man chapter 17 by clicking here.

Seita/Tsukiko connection

Because of everything that took place, Seita felt the presence of his sister. Kaori realizing this questions Seita about the state of his sister. Seita feels his sister is calling him and this phenomenon has happened has happened several times in the past before. To him, it’s like something connected. Seita also reveals this phenomenon usually takes place when she’s doing a job.

Seita might not know whats happening but Tsukiko is completely aware. She intentionally connected herself to her twin brother so he will be a guide when she returns. Tsukiko currently doesn’t know where she is but there’s a dark sphere in front of her. She didn’t touch it because her instincts were against that and she trusts her instincts. If she touched it, there’s a huge possibility her soul would perish.

The Gatekeeper

Tsukiko is interrupted by a talking brain which refers to itself as a gatekeeper or an Artificial Intelligence to humans. Before getting to this place, Tsukiko was facing a Mummily who took possession of a lady’s body. According to this Mummily, there was an issue with the circuits in one of their terminals which made Tsukiko “wonder in” by mistake. This AI asks Tsukiko to leave because their central system is located in this place.

Tsukiko listening to the AI’s request is pissed because they take over the human body running wild in the human world. The Gatekeeper believes Tsukiko is mistaken because they are not trying to destroty the world but to liberate it. Tsukiko confused by what it meant asks this this where they are from. Looking at its memories, she knows they are from a harsh environment but she doesn’t know where. The Gatekeeper was in a good mood because it hasn’t talked to a person in ages.

The Mummily's advancement

Mummily advance society Jinrui-shoku: Blight of Man

According to this AI, they developed an advance civilization in a distant star system a few billion years ago. They conquered problems such as disease and hunger and they had control of their lifespans, birthrates, the weather, conflicts over resources and the pollution of their environment. Because of the great advancement, “they were trying to carryout duties entrusted at the top of the ecosystem”

The fate of their planetv and how they survived

Mummily survived Jinrui-shoku: Blight of Man

Despite this, their planet was slowly being pulled into an enormous galaxy and would be caught in a supernova leading to the extinction of their species, their planet and the surrounding planets. With their technology, scientists searched desperately and found a way for them to survive. They could digitalize their souls and preserve them semi-permanently so they trapped all types of organic matter from their planet inside ice and rock, spreading it throughout space. They then waited for it to spring forth again in a galaxy that swallowed them. They waited for hundreds of years and found a planet that resembled their own just when they were about to give up. Earth was like a twin to their destroyed home-world.

Earth

They watched over the Earth as life and civilization sprung into existence but the difference was human life-forms were mentally immature and remained so. This immaturity can be seen in lots of senseless wars, zero concern for nature and wasteful consumption of resources hence creating a slow evolution. Seeing this, they decided to start taking over the world so they can manage it better than humans.

Closure

Chapter 17 revealed information about the Mummily lost their world and how advanced they were. This played a part in their survival. Now we know why they are trying to take over Earth. This chapter also confirmed Tsukiko and Seita’s special connection with each other. Hopefully, there’s information about the lifestyle so we can better understand the cultural and ideological differences between these entities and humans.
