Rick and Morty Spinoff

Rick and Morty is a popular animated series that follows the story of Rick sanchez and Morty Smith (Rick’s Grandson) as they travel across alternate dimensions, parallel universes and other planets. The story is heavily centered around their family with some episodes emphasizing on summer smith (Morty’s sister and Rick’s Granddaughter), Beth (Morty’s mother and Ricks daughter) and Jerry Smith (Morty’s father and Rick’s son-in-law). Season 8 premiered on May 25, 2025 and it is expected to conclude on July 27, 2025 comprising on 10 episodes airing weekly.


Rick and Morty Spinoff: 'President Curtis'


Two days before the final episode of Season 8 premieres, a new Rick and Morty spinoff series has been announced titled “PRESIDENT CURTIS”. This information was revealed by Keith David at 2025 San Diego Comic Con. David reveals this new spinoff is going to be about President Curtis and he will be reprising his role in this upcoming series. Information wasn’t given about the upcoming spinoff series but Keith David did give some minor details when asked about the upcoming spinoff. In an interview with IGN, David said:

“Well, we get to explore, you know, all things, Curtis. I mean, on the show Rick and Morty, he’s had quite a few adventures from uh you know gobble gobble to you know, all this stuff (reference to him using lightsabers alongside Rick). Now, but now he’s got some really great adventures. Some in the White House and some out and about related to the White House”.


What To Expect


Based on the information revealed by Keith David, President’s Curtis’ adventures are going to be related to the White House or centered mainly on the White House. That’s because in Rick and Morty, he’s the President of the United States.


Closure


The spinoff has only been announced. So far, it’s currently unknown if the upcoming series is already in production or not but time will tell. As for a teaser trailer or release date, don’t expect it anytime in the near future but it depends on production speed.
