PEAK, also referred to as Peak game is a popular co-op climbing survival game developed by Aggro Crab and Landfall. Aggro Crab and Landfall Games might not be known in the gaming community because both are two indie developers that usually collaborate for projects. The game was released on PC via Steam on June 16, 2025 making it a recent release and it was initially designed as a game Jam project that evolved into a full release. This article will shed light on what Peak game is, who created the game and also how much it costs.


Who made 'PEAK' game


PEAk was originally designed as a game jam project. A game jam is an event where Developers try to make a playable game within a short period of time (From days to a month). The goal of this is to test creativity and experimentation. The idea of the Peak game first came out of one of those creative contests. PEAK was created during a month-long game jam held in early 2025. Aggro Crab and Landfall made a rough prototype of a cooperative climbing game. The game was simple yet it was enjoyable. The jam game showed promise so the team decided to work on the game creating a co-op climbing game which was released on June 16, 2025. The game eventually became a sensation selling over 1 million copies in less than week, over 2 million in nine days and surpassing 5 million within a month.


What is 'PEAK' game


After the games release, PEAK was seen as unique. This is because it’s a co-op climbing survival game. In the game, Players called “Scouts” must scale a towering mountain after crash-landing on a mysterious island. Mountains are reset every 24 hours making the gameplay interesting and there are also environmental hazards such as frost and lava which makes climbing challenging. Stamina is vital in the game meaning players will have to use their brains and items (such as Rope Canon, Chain Launcher, sunscreen etc.) to complete a mountain while being in a team. Food can also be made in order to add stamina as it is a fragile lifeline. The game also has amazing graphics and also supports proximity chat meaning teammates voices fade with distance.

PEAK is primarily as online co-op multiplayer game that supports up to 4 players but it also support offline mode. In online mode, the game lets you climb mountains with friends using Steam’s matchmaking or you can do so through private lobbies which is why the game is loved by fans. Offline mode is solo meaning you can climb mountains alone without internet but it is harder because the game was designed around teamwork.


How much is 'PEAK' game


PEAK isn’t an expensive game when compared to others. During the launch week of PEAK game (June 16, 2025), the game was priced at $4.65 USD on Steam. The price was later changed to $7.99. This means if you want to purchase the game as of the writing of this article, you would need to pay $7.99 but the price seems fine taking into account how good the game is. The game is currently only exclusive on Windows PC or Steam. No mention of a PS5, Xbox or Nintendo release has been mentioned yet. As for system requirements:

The Minimum Requirement is 64-bit windows 10, Intel core i5 (2.5 GHz) or equivalent, 8 GB RAM, GTX 1060 or RT 6600 XT, DirectX 12, 4GB storage. The Recommended requirement is Windows 11, Intel Core i5 (3.0 GHz) or Ryzen 5, 16 GB RAM, RTX 2060 or RX 7600 XT, DirectX 12, 6 GB storage.

PEAK is an amazing game not only because of its uniqueness and creativity but also because of the support of fans. The game is very simple but also addicting and with the additions of new updates, the game will only get better from here on out. Peak game is currently exclusive to Windows PC via Steam. It is also good to be aware of Rip-offs. The game was so popular clones emerged in PS5 and ROBLOX. There’s a ROBLOX game called “Cliff” that mimics PEAK’s gameplay and aesthetics to an extent so new players should be wary of the rip-offs. PEAK is currently exclusive on Steam so any version seen outside of Steam should be questioned.
