X is moving towards AI powered personalization and platform control with the introduction of Grok

X is working on more ways to control what you see on the platform and avoid what you don’t like. X formally known as Twitter has been prone to frequent updates after Elon Musk's acquisition of the platform for $44 billion so this is expected. @XBusiness twitter/x handler revealed what they were working on going into year 2 of building a global town square that welcomes everyone and enable economic opportunity.


X new call feature


The message had information about updates which was already known and others being a first making its way into the public. An already known information revealed was the introduction or launch of new subscription tiers. These are basic and Premium+ giving the platform a total of three subscription tiers with its advantages.

Another already known information which has made its way all-over the globe is X’s new calling feature. With this Premium users can call any handle in the world without needing a phone number.

Based on the information, X is working on a way to make it easier so that users can choose the type of content they want to see on the platform and also the type they want to avoid or aren’t interested in. This will be boosted or enhanced with the combination of Grok and brand safety controls.


AI powered personalisation


X is working on an AI-powered personalization with the assistance of “Grok”. This new AI is going to be X’s new “friend” and it’s courtesy of X’s partnership with xAI. xAI is an American company which focuses in the development field of Artificial Intelligence. It was created by Elon Musk himself so this partnership is like an integration between xAI and X.


Grok AI


Grok is xAI’s new AI chatbot technology. Its prototype is still in its first two months of training and it’s in an early beta phase at the moment. It’s also available to a select number of users at the moment but there’s a waitlist so users get a chance to use the chatbot in future. Elon revealed this new AI will later on be available for X’s Premium+ users who pay. This bot is Elon’s way of challenging OpenAI’s chatGPT which has set a high standard for AI development across the globe.

Grok is going to be used for product maintenance, development, brand safety, security, search and much more. Grok is going to be a major factor in X’s new sematic search feature which allows users to see more content based on past searches and recommended posts. With this new AI assistant, X will also be able to control ads more effectively in the future.

Grok is going to play a vital role in the maintenance of X in the future because Elon plans on integrating this AI into the already super popular platform. One of the main complaints of X users is the algorithm showing content they aren’t interested in so this new update should be good
