Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan’s Abilities Explained in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 21 has been released and the main highlight of this chapter was on Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingans ability. Chapter 20 concluded with Sarada awakening her Mangekyo Sharingan in order to defeat Ryu. Another important detail in the chapter was the death of well-known character. Sarada's past Trauma


Chapter 21 begins with a flashback about details of the past. It was necessary because it revealed why Sasuke listened to Sarada and chose to support Boruto. The flashback revealed Sarada’s goal to become Hokage and Boruto promising to support her and Sarada’s resolve. The flashback also highlighted the results of Eida’s “Omnipotence” ability and how it ruined Boruto’s life. The reason Sasuke believed Sarada in the past (about Boruto) even though his memories were warped was because Sarada awakened her Mangekyo Sharingan, an Uchiha trait which is triggered into awakening by extreme psychological shock.


Sarada's Mangekyo Sharingans ability


In the battlefield. Sarada is seen using her Mangekyo Sharingan in a fight. This is the first time since its awakening when she was younger. Sarada created Black spheres and Ryu’s Iron sand was drawn towards it. Ryu fought with Iron sand and he could not do anything to Sarada at that moment. Sarada wasn’t limited as she could create multiple spheres across the battlefield. Ryu tried attacking Sarada but the Iron sand was drawn to a black sphere behind Ryu. Sarada could also control gravity. Ryu and Sarada began floating and that’s when the true nature of her ability was revealed. Mitsuki referred to the ability as “Gravitational Force”. Sarada could control who floated because Mitsuki and Araya were not floating. The Black sphere’s used gravitational pull on Ryu, the Iron Sand and Sarada herself.

In the air, Sarada’s second Mangekyo Sharingan’s ability was made known. One of those spheres became huge pulling Ryu to the point he couldn’t even move a finger. Ryu was like a nail being pulled to a giant magnet. Sarada then used her second ability known as “Ohirume”. Ohirume is similar to Amaterasu but it’s instant. Ryu simply turned into dust. A detail was given saying “Ohirume is an alternative name for Amaterasu, the sun goddess and chief deity of the Shinto Pantheon”.


Yodo's death


Sarada went unconscious after Ryu was defeated and she was also bleeding from her eyes. Ryu Thorn Soul Bulb came into existence. Eida relayed the message to Kashin Koji and Boruto. Unfortunately, Ryu's defeat was accompanied by the death of Yodo. Boruto was upset because Koji didn’t inform him about that possibility. Koji also knew Sarada would use her Mangekyo Sharingan. Boruto also asked Koji if Konohamaru was also supposed to die and Koji accepted. Koji didn’t see any other way because if Boruto intervenes, Jura would find Boruto because he’s connected to the other humanoid divine trees. This chapter concluded with Boruto attacking Matsuri saving Konohamaru but Jura became aware of Boruto’s location.


Closure


With the release of this chapter, Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan’s ability is already known but time will reveal how powerful her move is or if there are any drawbacks. So far the, the abilities seem promising and interesting considering how powerful threats are going to be in future. Unfortunately, Yodo is no more making her the first character in Boruto’s gen to be killed off (in the manga).
