Waterboy is a tender and soft hearted Janitor at the Superhero Dispatch Network (SDN) in the episodic game Dispatch (2025), developed by AdHoc Studio. Waterboy has a low rank but he has the goal to join the Z-team. Waterboy possesses a quirky and unique power that lets him expel water from his mouth. Voiced by Joel Haver, he is like a comedic relief character but he also stands out for his genuine kindness in the game. Waterboy is also really useful during dispatch calls in the game. Regarding the Eager Sponge trait, if Waterboy has been left off shifts or not sent often, he will “assign himself” and gain +1 to the highest stat required for the call. I also want to mention that this effect can only trigger once until conditions reset.

Eager Sponge makes Waterboy a reliable surprise booster. You can slot him into calls where your team is just short on a single stat to push outcomes from failure to success. It is recommended you use Waterboy as a situational plug by pairing him with heroes that cover the other stats so his +1 becomes a decisive edge rather than the main damage dealer.


Tips for building and Using Waterboy


I know I have mentioned this before but to get the most from Waterboy in Dispatch, use him as a flex-stat plug by slotting him into calls where your team is missing just one stat point so his Eager sponge trait can tip the balance. Focus XP on boosting his lowest stat to widen his utility. Also avoid sending him to difficult calls early in the game. Let him handle mid-tier dispatches while you build stronger heroes.


Common Mistakes to Avoid


Don’t treat Waterboy like a frontline damage dealer because his base stats are too low for heavy fights. Avoid relying on him alone for all missions that balance stats without strong teammates backing him. Sending him into calls where multiple stats are lacking reduces his clutch value and wastes resources.
