Borderlands 4 will feature several Vault Hunters, each with unique classes
and abilities. These characters include Amon the ForgeKnight, Harlowe the Gravitar, Rafa the Exo-soldier and Vex the Siren. These characters are very unique and choosing the right character can completely change how you experience the game, whether you prefer an all-out gunplay or tactical support. 1. Amon (The Forgeknight)
Class Type: Amon is a powerful close combat fighter that specializes in elemental damage and high durability. His class is known as ForgeKnight. This class allows him to forge his body into a weapon, utilizing forge drones that’s embedded in his spine and arm. This unique build lets him craft elental melee and defensive weapons making his an amazing close combat fighter.
Amon’s Abilities: Amon class trait is Forgeskill. Forgeskill means Amon’s abilities change based on the Action Skill equipped offering versatility in combat. Amon’s skill trees include Calamity, Vengeance, and cybernetics offering unique enhancement to his combat style. Amon's Three Action skills tied to the Skill trees include Onslaughter (tied to Calamity), Scourge(Vengeance), and Crucible(Cybernetics).
Amon’s Playstyle: Amon is the best Vault Hunter for players who enjoy being at the battle front because can take or withstand damage meanwhile dealing powerful elemental melee attacks. Amon’s ability to adapt to different combat situation because of his skill trees makes his a suitable choice for solo and co-op play.
2. Harlowe(The Gravitar)
Class Type: Harlowe belongs to the Gravitar class. Harlowe is a former Maliwan combat scientist. Harlowe’s powers are centered on Gravity and she can manipulate enemies and even the environment to her advantage. Harlowe has a class trait known as “Entanglement” which allows her to link enemies, dealing damage that affects all of them at once.
Harlowe’s Abilities: Harlowe’s Action Skill include Chrome Accelerator(fires an unstable Energy Pocket that travels through enemies), Zero-Point (places an enemy in stasis rendering them immobile until the ability ends) and Flux Generator(Deploys a device or field that deals cryo damage over time and entagles enemies). Harlowe’s Skill Trees Creative Burst, Seize the day, and Cosmic Brilliance focus on elemental damage, crowd control, and battlefield manipulation.
Harlowe’s PlayStyle: Harlowe is good for players who are very strategic. Her ability to control the battlefield with stasis effects is extremely valuable. Harlowe’s ability make her a very good support character and a valuable asset to a team. Her ability to also control crowds is extremely valuable so she can handle multiple enemies but it also depends on how she’s utilized.
3. Rafa(The Exo-Soldier)
Class Type: Rafa is an extremely versatile Vault Hunter that excels in both ranged and close combat. His class type is known as “Exo-Soldier”. Customization in this class is based on three unique skill trees which include Remte Agent, People Person, and Arc-Knives. Each of these three trees provide different playstyles crom close combat builds to critical hit ricochets.
Rafa’s Abilities: Rafa possesses the Vault Hunter Trait “Overdrive”. Activating an action skill increases Rafa’s movements and damage output. Rafa possesses Three Skill Trees which include Remote Agent, People Person and Arc-Knives. Each of these skill Trees are unique in their own ways. Remote Agent focuses on automated weaponry, People Person enhances team support, and Arc-Knives focuses on melee combat.
Rafa’s Playstyle: Rafa is suited for players who enjoy flexibility and adaptability in combat. This is because Rafa skill trees allow players to tailor his skills to engage enemies in either range attacks or in close combat. This makes him a good choice for people who don’t have a specific playing style.
4. Vex(The Siren)
Class Type: Vex belongs to the Siren Class. Her ability include manipulating phase energy and also summoning a companion to assist in combat. She possesses a Vault Hunter Trait called “Phase Covenant” which links her abilities to the element type of her current weapon therefore boosting the damage. In short, Phase covenant lets her adapt elemental damage based on her equipped weapon.

Which Vault Hunter is the Best in Borderlands 4?
There is no precise answer to this because the best Vault Hunter in Borderlands 4 depends on an individual playstyle meaning close combat or range, support or damage, solo or co-op but here’s how each of them compare to one another so it’ll be easier for players to choose.
Vex is currently to most popular Borderlands 4 Vault Hunter among many players especially those going solo. Her Phase Covenant trait lets her adapt elemental damage based on her equipped weapon, and this makes her very versatile and flexible. Her summonable minions are also a good support or backup which helps gives players an added advantage when it comes to surviving.
Rafa is great Borderlands 4 character if you like a strong character that also balanced. He’s a powerful range character but he’s also a good close combat fighter. Players appreciate Rafa for being good in all situations because of versatile playstyle.
Harlowe is the best Borderlands 4 character when it comes to crowd control and team play. If you like slowing down enemies or dealing multiple damage to several opponents at a specific time period and supporting teammates, then Harlowe is a good choice. Her skills are incredibly beneficial in a team.
Amon is a good Borderlands 4 character for players who like close battle. Amon is extremely durable, he has strong defensive tools and also possesses elemental melee assaults. He’s less mobile than the others so sometimes he might feel slower than the others but in close-range combats, he’s a walking tank.
