Brawlhalla has lots of character or legends but not all are easy to use. There are some characters in the game that feel smooth and easy (friendly to beginners) but others need precise spacing, advanced combos, and well a good handling just to stay consistent in ranked matches. Most Brawlhalla characters have similar playstyles so difficulty in this case comes from Weapon Choice, movement speed, combo execution, and how punishable a legends attacks are. This doesn’t mean the characters that are going to be in this list will be weak because many are powerful if they are used by skilled players. However, the characters in this list are going to need more practice. This article is going to count down the Top 5 hardest Brawlhalla characters to use based on Gameplay Difficulty.


What Makes a Character Hard to Use In Brawlhalla


A character becomes hard to use or difficult in Barwlhalla because of how much precision and control they need to perform well on a consistent basis. Because of this, there are several factors that influence a character or legends difficulty in this game. These factors include complex weapons (such as Scythe, Blasters, and Greatsword), low forgiveness (small mistakes can cost you because of poor defense or slow recovery), lots of spacing during gameplay (because attack positioning matters) and situational signatures. Hard character means you make mistakes more often and it can lead to severe punishment from opponents so you need to learn more about fundamentals to use these characters and win a battle.


Top 5 Hardest Brawlhalla Characters or Legends


5. Yumiko (Bow/Hammer)


Yumiko in Brawlhalla uses a Bow and a Hammer to fight. She is difficult because she depends more on prediction and positioning rather than just simply attacking. Her bow is easy to learn but Hammer is very difficult especially when you’re fighting experienced players (in ranked mode). She’s also hard to use because many of her attacks works best when you are predicting an enemy and her special attacks are really good when you are setting up like traps but they aren’t good for spamming. Mistimed attacks also leave her open to punishment which is problematic. Most people who play as her use fire attacks to block reas or catch approaching enemies but if opponents expect you attack then it won’t work well. She can be used in lower ranks during ranked matches but at higher ranks she will become problematic to use.


4. Isaiah (Blasters/Canon)


Isaiah is difficult because of his blasters. His blasters require a careful positioning and timing to work properly which suggests that they work best when opponents are at a certain distance. Blasters are weak when enemies get too close. Canon attacks are powerful but they are slower on average and a missed attack can leave him exposed. The issue is you are going up against other people. Other players won’t wait in a specific spot for Isaiah to use his attacks and that’s why I made mention of position and timing. He is a really good character when he’s in control and forces opponents to approach carefully. However, fast characters will put a pressure on him hence the reason he’s in this list.


3. Lin Fei (Katars/Canon)


Lin Fei is fast but many players struggle with her because she has low damage when compared to other legends. Opponents can survive longer when they’re playing against her, she has extremely long combos and her canon needs a very good movement and timing. You can use Lin Fei and give lots of Clean Combos but still struggle to knock opponents out and this is especially true for legends with high defense and health. Her katers is great for fast pressure while her canon needs smart positioning. Lin Fei is rewarding for players who are very skilled but she might be frustrating for people who want quick and easy knockouts.


2. Jiro (Sword/Scythe)


Jiro is one of the hardest characters to use because his fighting style depends heavily on speed, prediction and very fast reaction. This is because of the weapons her uses i.e Scythe. Scythe combos depend on predicting enemy dodges. He also has low defense which means that mistakes are punished very hard. In a way, Jiro requires an aggressive gameplay but you have to be careful at the same time so you finding the balance between that two is important. Jiro making a wrong move against strong damage dealers (for instance Teros) can be extremely problematic. Jiro with a Sword isn’t that much of a problem but lots of players struggle with the Scythe. Jiro looks really strong when you watch clips online but using him especially in the high ranks can be more difficult than expected.


1. Magyar (Hammer/Greatsword)


Magyar is considered on of the hardest characters (legends) to use in Brawlhalla because of his slow movement and difficult weapon combination. The Greatsword combos need precise timing and follow-up choices. Hammer attacks also depends heavily on spacing and punish timing. These two weapon complexities with his slow movement makes it very hard to recover from mistakes during combat. Magyar missing a greatsword combo can be problematic especially when he’s going up against a fast character who can counter easily. Magyar simply can’t escape danger easily because he’s slow. Even though he has one of the highest defense stats in the game, many players still struggle with him because Greatsword takes time and practice to understand.


Why Hard Characters Are Still Worth Learning


Even though these characters are difficult to use, they usually help players improve in the long run. This is because hard legends force you to learn the real fundamentals of Brawlhalla instead of relying on spam attacks that are easy to use (aka Queen Nia). If you master these character, you will learn a lot about spacing, movement control, combo timing and consistency, dodge reading. Many players still use difficult legends because once they force you to understand them, they become very strong and predictable.

The hardest characters in Brawlhalla are not weak. It’s just hard for people to use them because they need more time for training. Legends like Yumiko, Isaiah, Lin Fei, Jiro and Magyar each have mechanics that punish mistakes for heavily than other beginner friendly picks. These characters can feel frustrating to new players but they can be considered amazing for experienced Brawlhalla players. Overall, the best character isn’t the easiest but you need to understand these characters well enough to win a lot of matches.
