This confusion is understandable because there are people who still do not know about Pet Owners even though they are long time Brawlhalla players with at least 4 years of experience. Lots of players assume it means Cosmetic pets but it’s tied to some legends in the game’s lore who are classified as having animal companions or pets. Some of these legends or characters include Fait, Azoth, Ember and much more. This article is going to talk about what “Pet Owners” means in Brawlhalla, which legends count as Pet owners, how pets (sidekicks and companions) work, and how to complete missions related to “Pet Owners” in the game.


What Pet Owners Mean in Brawlhalla


Pet Owners is a classification based on Brawlhalla lore that’s used in Battle Pass missions in the game. It refers to Brawlhalla legends who have been marked in the game as having an animal companion, a magical creature and spirits or familiars. There are many Brawlhalla players who assume that pet owners refer to sidekick, companions or even cosmetic items. This confusion is especially true for new Brawlhalla players or long time Brawlhalla players who just recently discovered the concept of “Pet Owners” in the game. Some examples of Pet Owners in Brawlhalla include Fait with Cat Butterscotch, Azoth, Ember with her wolf/raven spirits, kaya with her animal spirit companion, Mirage with Camel Bax and Cassidy with her Jaguar.


Which Legends Count As Pet Owners in Brawlhalla

How to Complete “Win Matches AS Pet Owners” Mission


There are some matches in Brawlhalla that called “Win Matches as Pet Owners”. This is the main reason why lots of Brawlhalla players are learning about Pet owners in the game. In order to win this Battle pass mission, pick a Pet owner in the game. Some pet owners include Fait, and Azoth. The section above also gave list of other pet owners in the game. Complete this mission with that Pet owner you chose. This mission can be in 1v1 Ranked, strikeout mode or Casual queues so don’t be surprised if you see it. To complete this mission, you must win with the Pet owner you chose. That’s why it’s titled like that. It’s “Win Matches as Pet owners”. If they asked you to play the match as a Pet Owner it would’ve been a different case but you are asked to win.


Pets Owners vs. Sidekicks vs. Companions


Lots of people confuse between Pets, Sidekick and Companions in Brawlhalla but there’s a difference. Sidekicks in Brawlhalla are flying companions that your character takes into matches. They are real, they follow you during gameplay and bring you back after knockouts. They are also cosmetic and do not affect your gameplay. Examples of Sidekicks in Brawlhalla include Zoid, Craig, Techno Pup and R2-D2. Companions are similar to sidekicks but they stay on the ground and react to events in matches. They are also purely cosmetic. Pet Owners means something else in its entirety so don’t confuse between the three of them.


Why Brawlhalla Uses “Pet Owners” in Missions


The “Pet Owners” label in Brawlhalla isn’t a gameplay mechanic so it’s like a mission category used by Battle Pass in the game. It groups Brawlhalla character or legends based on lore traits rather than gameplay features. This makes the mission feel very unique when compared to other although it can be confusing to new players. The “Pet Owners” label isn’t explained in the game and there are some legends who only count as pet owners during Specific Battle Pass seasons so it depends.
