Kingshot Coliseum Formation Guide

The Coliseum in Kingshot is an important progression mode in the game because it rewards players with very valuable resources, weekly crystals, and Hero Gear Materials. Even though people would want to benefit from this, lots of players struggle because Coliseum battles work very differently from your ordinary PvP fights or rally battles. The Coliseum is different from normal combat in that it depends a lot on troop balance, hero positioning, synergy and gear efficiency rather than power alone. This means players with older or stronger accounts can still lose if their frontline collapses too early in the battle. This article is going to explain how Kingshot Coliseum formations actually work, the best troop setups to use, and how positioning heroes correctly can improve your win rate.


How the Kingshot Coliseum Works


The Coliseum is part of the Mystic Trial in Kingshot. It focuses more on formations, Hero Gear, and positioning when compared to other kinds of battles in the game. For instance there are lots of aspects in the game (such as pets, Charms, governor equipment, academy bonuses) that greatly affect PvP performance but they don’t over affect you when you’re in Coliseum. In this case, systems such as hero stats, troop balance, and Hero Gear become the main factors that affect your performance in the Coliseum. Lots of players use aggressive PvP formations in this mode and that makes them lose.


Best Kingshot Coliseum Formation Ratio


One of the best Coliseum formation used by experienced players is the 50/10/40 ratio. This means 50% Infantry/ 10% Cavalry/ 40% Archers. This setup is really popular because it gives you a strong frontline, you get a good or stable range damage from the archers and an overall balanced positioning. Infantry units take damage meanwhile Archers can deal continuous DPS from behind the frontline. Cavalry is kept lower because Coliseum battles reward stability and consistency more than aggressive rush.

If your infantry heroes fall quickly then enemy troops will immediately reach your archers causing your entire damage output collapse. This is why it’s good that you place very durable frontline heroes like Howard while protecting high DPS Archer heroes like Diana in the back. Troop numbers will also matter because a lot of people might use similar strategies especially if they get their information from the same source.

Other alternative setups that is good like the one mentioned above are 50/10/35 or 50/20/30 and this depends on several factors such as enemy formations, hero upgrades, and gear strength. If the first one isn’t working out well for you, try these other two although they are all similar.


Best Hero Positioning For Coliseum


Hero positioning is honestly very important in Kingshot because every troop type has a different role during combat. Now when talking about best position for the Coliseum, the frontline should be filled with Infantry Heroes, Archers should be in the backline and Cavalry should be placed in good positions so they provide support. Your strongest heroes should stay at the frontline because the infantry units take or absorb most incoming attacks. These heroes should be tank heroes with good defensive skill. I gave an example of Howard who is a good for frontline positions. You can also use heroes with similar stats as Howard. Secondly, Archer heroes should stay protected in the back where they can just keep dealing damage without any interruptions. Archers are also high speed attack units so it’ll be good. The example I gave for an Archer is Diane.


Common Formation Mistakes Players Make


I won’t say a lot in this section but I will talk about two mistakes. The first mistake most players make in troop formation is using too much Cavalry. Cavalry formations are good in Kingshot in PvP or you can say they perform well in PvP. Coliseum battles usually reward survivability and damage so they should be considered something of great importance. Secondly, most people don’t care about Hero Gear and that’s wrong. A good Hero Gear on a main hero can change the outcome of a battle. I know I only said two but I decided to add one more which is not making the mistake of protecting the wrong hero.


Good Strategy for Free-to-Play Players


F2P players can do well in the Coliseum if they focus on a few heroes rather than spreading resources across multiple heroes. Get one powerful infantry type hero and one consisted Archer DPS hero. Upgrades these heroes very well rather than trying for focus on a lot of heroes. You can also rotate your strongest hero gear among different teams so you don’t spend on additional resources.


Coliseum Formation Tips


Positioning is very important in the Coliseum and this has been pointed out before. You should move stronger tanks towards enemy DPS lanes. Also, if you are going up against teams with a lot of archers, try to increase infantry so they break through the other team’s defense. When playing, it’s good to try different setups because it depends on your opponents. You can reposition people who deal damage in different setups to see how the battle goes. You should also adjust the troop ratios I gave you depending on enemy formations.

Strong Coliseum performance in Kingshot depends on troop balance, hero positioning and hero gear management. For most players, the 50/10/40 setup is one of the best or most reliable formations because it balanced frontline survivability with a stable range damage. However, you still need to adjust the ratios depending on your opponents. One setup cannot work every time so “test the waters”.
